George L Hedin

Dr. George Leonard Hedin died peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his home surrounded  by family.  George was born in Ely, MN in August 24, 1943.  He grew up in Two Harbors, MN and graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1961.  After graduation he attended the University of Minnesota and went on to get his doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering.  In 1964 he married his high school sweetheart, Clare Beckstrom, and after graduation they moved to California.  George was a research scientist for 30 years in the Aerospace and Defense Industries for TRW  in Redondo Beach and Escondido, CA.  George loved woodworking and spending time on the golf course with his friends.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Ted.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years Clare Beckstrom, brothers Ted (Roberta),and Jim (Marianne), many nieces and nephews and a very special friend Gerri Patterson.

A private gathering of family and friends will be held later this summer in Minnesota.
