Herbert "Mike" Michalek

Herbert "Mike" Michalek passed away peacefully in Escondido, CA, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the age of 95.

Mike was born September 20, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI. During World War II, Mike served as a medic in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. army. Mike and his wife, Eleanor, lived for many years in Chicago, IL, where Mike worked as a hotel manager. In retirement, Mike and Eleanor moved to Escondido, where Mike enthusiastically took up lawn bowling and enjoyed weekly coffee and donuts with his neighbors and barbequing for community events.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, and is survived by three nieces, Sandra, Janet and Betty. Mike will be deeply missed by his many friends at Quail Creek.
