JoAnn V. Burd

JoAnn (Jan) Virginia Burd, age 73 years. Resident of Escondido California. Died September 17, 2019 at the Palomar Medical Center, Poway California from complications of pulmonary fibrosis. Born January 18, 1946, was the daughter Elsie Ackely-Ellenboughen and Samual Ackley in Niagara Falls, New York. She Graduated San Diego High School 1965, Masters Degree from National University. Married John J Burd February 20, 1965, widowed June 6, 1988. Worked as a behavioural health counselor. Jan enjoyed music and played the french horn. Jan enjoyed traveling and was always looking forward to her next adventure with Len. She always had time for her grandchildren and enjoyed having lunches with them. She relied on her granddaughters to keep her up on the latest trends in beauty and fashion, while her grandsons always assisted her with technology. She enjoyed the outdoors and trips in her RV. Jan loved trips to the bay to watch Len windsurf. She loved nature and could identify most plants, flowers or birds. Fall was her favorite season, she loved the changing colors of the leaves, sweaters and football. She followed the Aztecs and Chargers. Jan always had a kind word and smile for anyone she met.

Jan is survived by her Husband Len Ukrainetz, daughter Vicki Burd-Lopez, son John Burd, his wife Amy, stepson Jeff Ukrainetz, his wife Jamie, stepdaughters Sandi Pulido, her husband Tom, and Stephanie Ukrainetz, son-in-law Alberto Lopez, sister Helen (Roxanne) Raish-Ackley, brothers Bill Ackley and Bob Ackley, 15 grandchildren, Chris Rose, Jennifer Rose, Nick Rose, Austyn Ukrainetz, Madisyn Ukrainetz, Cade Ukrainetz, Cole Ukrainetz, Lyndsey Burd, Sarah Lopez, Truman Burd, Izzy Pulido, Sage Ukrainetz, Nora Pulido, Jasmine Lopez and Leah Lopez, great Grandchildren Ethan Franco, Dominic Franco and Nicholas Rose.
