Joshua Michael Garcia, an Iraq war veteran, died unexpectedly on August 25, 2019 at the age of 34, in San Diego, California.
Joshua is survived by his mother, Keelie Garcia; his children Jace and Jett Garcia; his brother, Kyle Garcia; his grandparents, Spencer and Sandy Sielschott; his aunts, Karen Karr and Joanna Saffron; his uncles, Matt Karr and Jeremy Garcia; his cousins, Madison Stevens (Jimmy), Maya Garcia, Kaitlyn Saffron, and Dylan Saffron; and his many Marine brothers.
Joshua graduated from Gallup High School in 2003, moved to Albuquerque shortly after, and then settled in San Diego. At the age of 19, Joshua enlisted in the Marines and served four years of active duty. He completed two tours in Iraq as a combat engineer during wartime. As a civilian, he was an expert welder.
His two boys were the light of his life. He enjoyed camping with them, watching them play soccer and baseball, hanging out at the beach and, especially, four-wheeling.
