Kathryn - Telles

Kathryn Telles fell asleep in our Lord, on October 20, 2018 at Palomar Medical Center Poway surrounded by friends.  She was born in Escondido on March 30, 1945.  

Preceding her in death were her father Roy Riffle, her mother Mabel Lou (Prior) Riffle as well as her two brothers John and Mike. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Telles and her two dogs Abby and Panda.  

She attended local schools and graduated from Escondido High School in 1963.  She also attended Palomar College, and graduated in 1968 from San Diego State University.  Shortly after graduating she started work as a Kindergarten teacher at Richland Elementary School in San Marcos, CA.   She taught kindergarten for 26 years and retired in 1994.  

Her husband always teased her about being in kindergarten for 26 years and never graduating.  Kathy was married for 41 wonderful years.  Until her marriage she had never been outside of California and Arizona.  After being married she traveled to many countries including Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Tahiti, Costa Rica, Aruba, St. Thomas, Columbia, Germany and Kenya Africa as well as several places in the United States.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, staying at a cabin on Palomar mountain, being with friends and family, and attending St. John of Damascus Orthodox Church.  

Kathy had taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and helped around the church in other ways.  Her church family, friends and especially her husband will surely miss her.  Memory Eternal!
