Tamara Lea Grant

Tamara Lea Grant peacefully passed away at home on January 3, 2020. She was born and raised in San Francisco. Graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in Radiology Technology and was employed by the University of California in San Francisco as a X-ray Technician. In 1969, she met her future husband Dennis who at the time was in the U.S. Army stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. They were married in June of 1970 just one day after his discharge from the United Sates Army. Their loving daughter Zena was born in 1974 where they continued to live in San Francisco until 1979. From 1979 through 1984 they lived in  the Los Angeles Area moving to Poway in 1984. They were attracted to Poway for the excellent reputation of the school system and wonderful family based community. 

After the move to Poway, Tamara spent the next 17 years working at the Kaiser Hospital where she enjoyed a career in Radiology. At home Tamara enjoyed her cats, watching General Hospital, and most of all spending time with her family and dear friend Mireya and family. Tamara retired in 2007 and thanks to her mother in law she was introduced to the retirement world where she met many other seniors who soon became close friends. She was on the go five days a week playing poker, Mahjong, and Hand and Foot. One of her passions was going out to eat with her family and friends and could eat Sushi every day. The highlight of her retirement was spending time with her grandchildren who lived close by. Tamara and Dennis were married just five months short of 50 years. Tamara enjoyed a full life and had a knack fo living every day to it’s fullest. She is survived by her husband Dennis, her brother Greg, her son in law Mark, and her grandchildren Declan and Sacha. Tamara will be sadly missed by her family and friends but it is reassuring to know she is at peace in Heaven with her daughter Zena.
