Anne Law Brooke, formerly Anne Law Taylor, passed away peacefully at her home near San Diego, California, surrounded by her loved ones, on February 8, 2025. Born in Glens Falls, New York, on August 24, 1947, to Dorothy Jean and John Taylor, Anne's life was full of love, kindness, and a spirit of adventure. She touched the lives of so many with her gentle nature and thoughtfulness.
After graduating from Redondo Union High School, Anne attended Mount Holyoke College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in English in 1969. Following graduation Anne worked as a flight attendant with American Airlines allowing her to travel extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia. Later, Anne transitioned to a successful retail career, working as a Buyer for Filene’s Department Store and then dedicating 25 years as a store manager for Marshalls/Home Goods, where she was committed to delivering value to customers and colleagues.
Outside of work, Anne found joy in cooking, gardening, travel, and the companionship of her beloved dog, Moses. Her warm smile and thoughtful gestures extended to her kitchen, where she loved to host lively dinner parties, sharing delicious meals and creating lasting memories with friends and family. These gatherings, filled with laughter and warmth, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Anne is survived by her children, Benjamin Brooke and his wife, Angela of Los Angeles, CA, and Georgia Kovacs and her husband, Ernest; and her grandchildren, Sidney, Leo, and Penelope Kovacs of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Peter Taylor and Susan Leeds.
