Bernice Yorke

Bernice Yorke was born Viola Bernice Ewing on January 30, 1930 in Toronto, Canada.  She is the daughter of James Ewing and Margaret Jane Lowry.  Bernice and her parents moved to Lifford, County Donegal, Ireland, in 1934.  Bernice has three brothers; Jimmy (deceased), Leslie (deceased) and Ken.

Bernice married Albert Kilpatrick Yorke in Dublin, Ireland on May 8, 1954.  Bernice and Albert had three sons; Gordon, Donald and Brian.  Albert passed away in 1997.

Bernice and Albert moved from Ireland to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1954 and then to Sunnyvale, California in 1955.  Since 1996, Bernice lived in San Diego, California with her eldest son Gordon.

Bernice graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1949 with a degree in Teaching with an emphasis on English and Gaelic language.  Bernice was an Elementary School Teacher, Homemaker and Library Assistant.

Bernice was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  She enjoyed sewing and baking as well as family vacations to Lake Tahoe, San Diego and other attractions in the western United States.  Bernice was also a devout Christian and faithfully attended the Union Church of Cupertino.

Bernice will live on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.  Bernice was called to heaven by our Holy Father on September 29, 2021 to be reunited with her beloved Albert and rejoice in the memory of their lives together.
