Bill Franklin

Bill Franklin was born as Dennis Vincent Chaisson in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on April 27, 1943. Bill died on March 6th, 2025.

Adopted in 1946 by Margaret Burd Franklin and James Montgomery Franklin, they christened their new son Dennis Burd Franklin in the First Congretional Church of Montclair, New Jersey by his grandfather the Rev. Charles Gilette Burd. 

Dennis became a U.S. Citizen in 1951 and changed his name to Bill his junior year of high school in 1960. 

Bill worked for eight years in airline customer service and the following thirty years in the restaurant business retiring as manager in 1997. Bill did extensive traveling in this country, England, the Caribbean and the South Pacific. 

Bill is survived by his friend and partner Tom Jenkins, and Tom's sister Tricia of Hyde Park, New York.

Bill has volunteered at Neighborhood Healthcare in Escondido since 2003 and memorial donations may be made to them at 425 N. Date St., or to the Escondido Humane Society. 

Bill's cremains will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery in Escondido, CA.
