Charles Russell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Charles Russell. Charles died peacefully on Friday afternoon, April 22, 2022 at Villa Rancho Bernardo in San Diego, CA. Charles was born on September 29,1931 in St. Paul Minnesota  and moved to California as a young child growing up in Culver City, CA where he married and raised a family. Charles was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War where he was decorated with the Purple Heart  and both the silver and bronze stars. Charles was also a retiree of Hughes Aircraft Company where he made numerous friends during his 45 years of service.  

Charles was a long time resident of San Marcos CA and is survived by his son and daughter in-law Michael Charles and Marcy Wynne Russell of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Charles was preceded in passing by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary who passed away on  March 19, 2022. Charles was also the father to Charles W (Chuck) Russell who preceded him in passing in 2011. 

Memorial services at San Luis Rey Mission in San Diego, will be held for both Mary and Charles on a yet to be determined date. An announcement will be made at that time.
