CDR USNR Retired Darlene Sani-Rogers passed away on July 31, 2025. She was 77 years old. She is survived by her two sons Matthew, Ryan, her husband Nick, and brother Alan, her sister Debbra, and step- daughter Kelly.
Darlene dedicated her life to the pursuit of care of others through a flourishing nursing career. Starting her career at Denver VA Hospital with over 12 years of service, she then joined the Navy as a Lieutenant sailing around the world providing emergency medical treatment to war torn countries. It was during this time, home ported in San Diego, where she met her beloved Husband Lieutenant Nick Rogers and together shared 40 glorious years of marriage.
Aside from her love and dedication to her career and family, Darlene also had an adventurous spirit. In her downtime, she loved to travel, and explore local getaways with her family and friends - often off- roading with dune buggies, and sand toys. She was also an avid and voracious reader, always with a good book in hand. It was this combination from her love of a good story, to always being game for the sand dunes, to cruise ship trips, to her sense of humor and so much of Darlene that will be forever missed. Darlene was well loved by her family, friends, and work colleagues, and her memory will continue to be cherished for many years to come.
