Master Chief Ed Mangel was a generous, brilliant, and exceptional individual. After a failed attempt to enlist in the US Army at age 15, Ed Mangel convinced the US Navy to accept him and enlisted at age 18 in 1957. For the next 30 years he served his country and the Navy working in Aviation on anything and everything that could fly, from the F-4 phantom, F-16 Tomcats, and UAV’s. Ed never knew a stranger and would give someone the shirt off his back, he had an eye for spotting and helping others when they needed it. Ed spent his free time building and flying RC Planes, riding motorcycles, dune buggies and spending time in Mexico with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Barbara, Grandchildren, and friends.
