Gary G. Griffin

Gary G. Griffin, 68, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Born in Austin, Texas, to Cecil and Vera Griffin, on February 13, 1951, Gary graduated from Lanier High School in 1969 and University of Texas, 1973 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

On May 29, 1982, Gary and Susan Sokolik were united in matrimony in Stonington, Connecticut. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage and were best friends.

Gary was a loving father and grandfather, as well. He will be sorely missed by his son, Ryan Griffin and daughter, Kara Griffin of San Diego; daughter-in-law Brooke Griffin; grandchildren Logan and Evan; and sister, Gina Griffin, Austin, Texas.

Gary dedicated his life to his family from near-and-afar and enjoyed his 40-year career in engineering, His hobbies included: travel, sailing and photography. He was renowned for his craftsmanship and attention to detail.

To quote Joshua Slocum, “The day passes happily with me wherever my ship sails."

Memorial Service will be at 10 am Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church.
