With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we share that Joanne (Jo) Foster passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100.

In December 2024, Jo joyfully celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by friends and loved ones at her home in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego. It was a heartfelt occasion that reflected the warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit she shared with all who knew her.

Jo was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, where she pursued her love of learning and earned a Master's of Library Science from Acadia University. Her path later brought her to the United States, where she met and married her beloved husband, John. Together, they built a life grounded in love, curiosity, and quiet strength.

A passionate reader and a soul at peace near the ocean, Jo carried a deep appreciation for beauty, nature, and the power of stories. She was predeceased by her husband John and their son David. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter Diane, who carries forward her mother’s legacy of grace and resilience.

A memorial service to honor Jo’s life will be held at a later date in Oregon. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
