John Robert Rohner 94, a long-time resident of Rancho Bernardo, died on February 21, 2023. John was 94 years old. John was born 1-25-1929 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He married Joan R Struthers of Oshkosh in 1952. They were always together until her passing in 1997.
He operated Rohner’s Home Furnishings in Oshkosh, Wisconsin from 1950 thru 1980. John and Joan moved to San Diego in the early 80’s to peruse their love of golf and escape the harsh Wisconsin winters. Golf and traveling became their main adventures. John and Joan were members of Bernardo Heights Country Club. After Joan’s death John was a member of the Men’s club at the Rancho Bernardo Inn and later in life, he enjoyed Oaks North golf Course and made many friends there. His last day of golf was August 4th, 2022.
John died peacefully in no real pain and was anxious to be with his family and Maker in heaven. John is survived by his daughter Mary Jo Rohner and son Tom Rohner and his longtime friend Rudi Toman, all of San Diego, CA
