Lois was born to Ernest and Mattie Pinson on May 3,1930 in Springfield Tennessee.
Lois was the third of four children. Mildred, Cala June and her brother Earnest, all who have preceded her in death.
Lois moved with her family to New Orleans in Sept of 1934. She attended elementary school there before moving to Mississippi, where her father was a pastor in several area Baptist churches.
Clarke College, is where she received her Bachelor’s degree. Lois liked new experiences and moving. That’s how Texas ended up calling her name. Lois went to University of Houston receiving her Master’s degree.
Lois was a dedicated and devoted teacher and counselor in public schools. Starting in Arkansas, moved back to Texas, before living in San Diego and retiring from teaching at Wangenheim Middle School.
Lois saw the sky and started walking. She walked miles every day with her best friend a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog called Chuck. When that little dog was too old to keep up, Lois purchased a radio flyer red wagon, complete with side boards, and towed that little guy along with her. She said she noticed the men loved the silkiness of Chucks ears.
Lois was renowned for her love of sweets, which she enjoyed with uncurbed enthusiasm Three desert Lois was our nickname for her.
Lois will be deeply missed. We celebrate a life well lived. Lois Pinson a loyal friend, a dedicated teacher, a gracious soul, will forever live in our hearts.
