Louis was born and raised in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on April 16, 1925, and passed away at the age of 97 years old. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother,
Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 46-years Sally Klein-Rutstein, Mother Ethel Rutstein and Sister Freda Rutstein.
He leaves behind his beloved family, Sande Rutstein (daughter), & wife Lee Nelson, Ella Rose Granddaughter, Nancy Hirsch (daughter) and son in-law Roger Alan Hirsch, Sol (grandson) and wife Kristina, Uriel, and Josiah (Great Grandsons), and the beloved Lampl family (cousins), who called him (super Lou), and Lora and Perry Sigesmund & children.
Louis, served under General Douglas MacArthur in World War II in the Philippines and a tour of duty in the Korea war. He survived a near death experience with his superior officer who was killed next to him in a fox hole.
Louis was known to his friends as a card shark. He had even tried to outwit the Las Vegas dealers. However, his most well-known trait was his passion to connect with others whether young or old. He had fans of all ages and he loved to engage in gatherings to play games, share in meals, and/or just be together and share in conversation and quality time together. Everyone had an appreciation for Lou’s sense of humor. We found ourselves laughing together even at the most inappropriate times.
He will be missed deeply, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts that he touched. He was one of a kind.
