We are sad to announce the passing of Mark Etheridge of Imperial Beach, California. He died at age 59 on August 1, 2022. Mark was a devoted military man who retired after 20 years of service as a Gulf War Veteran. He traveled to Japan, the Philippines, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and many more places during his service to our county, but his favorite place was the Sand Dunes of Glamis. Mark loved his sand toys, and camping with his desert friends in his Banzai Crew. Before he joined the military, Mark was a baseball player in high school and loved playing softball in his later years. He loved the beach and riding his beach cruiser with his loyal companion, his little chihuahua Leah. Mark being an avid sports fan, also very much enjoyed hanging out with his IB friends at The Office and The Bullpen Tavern watching his favorite sport, baseball and cheering on his favorite teams the San Diego Padres and the San Diego Chargers.
Mark is survived by his wife, Robin Etheridge; his daughter Jacqueline; his grandson Luka; his sister, Susan; his brothers, Jack and Jordan; his cousin, Roy; and his nieces and nephews, Danny, Kelly, Evan, Rachele and Zachary; and his beloved dog, Leah.
His kind heart, generous soul, and his witty humor will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
