Mary Martha Bringmann passed away peacefully in her home in Escondido on November 30, 2024 surrounded by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jerry, and her Rottweiler, Maddy.
Mary was born Mary Martha Downey on August 24, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia, to John and Nancy Downey (Mers). She married Gerald (Jerry) Bringmann on September 16, 1967, in Carson City, Nevada. They lived briefly San Jose, California, where Jerry worked for the IBEW 332 and Mary worked as an aerospace machinist (FMC). They moved to Alaska in 1973 for their greatest adventure that lasted 13 years. They enjoyed the beautiful outdoors and caught salmon that were so big Mary couldn’t reel them in. Mary was known for driving her snow machine way too fast. They moved to Escondido in 1986 where Mary cultivated her rose garden and her exquisite taste in jewelry, shoes and interior decorating. She lived there with her husband until her death.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jerry, her son, David Bringmann (Paula), her daughter, LeeAnn Prowse, and three grandchildren.
Mary had a private funeral with her family on December 7th, 2024.
