Patrick Joesph Mulvanity

Patrick Joseph Mulvanity, 66, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Patrick was born on December 19, 1959, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Lieutenant Colonel Donald Charles Mulvanity and Grace Mulvanity (née Johnson). As the son of a career military officer, he spent his childhood living in many places, including Alaska, California, Argentina, and Northern Virginia.

While living in Northern Virginia, Patrick met Nicole Rankin, the mother of his three children: Kyla, Patrick Jr., and Colleen Meinecke (Andrew). In 2010, Patrick moved to San Diego, California.

Patrick spent many happy years with Susan Dillon before the two were married in 2021. Together they made their home in Poway, California, where he worked a variety of jobs, including as a security guard and a bus driver.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Dillon Mulvanity; his mother, Grace Mulvanity of Coronado, California; his children, Kyla, Patrick Jr., and Colleen Meinecke and her husband, Andrew; his beloved grandchildren, Catherine and Alexander; his sisters Dawn and Debra, and many extended family members and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Donald, and brother, Shaun. 

Patrick loved dogs, soccer, boating, and spending time outdoors. He will be remembered for his warm smile, easy conversation, and genuine interest in others that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A celebration of life will be held at California Funeral Alternatives in Escondido on Friday, July 10 at 1pm, 1020 East Pennsylvania Avenue
Escondido, CA 92025. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN)
