Raymond Daniel Mills, 63, of Escondido, California, died at home on April 25, 2026. Born August 27, 1962, in San Diego, California, Raymond will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, his love of the open road, and the pride he took in serving his country.
Raymond honorably served in the United States Air Force from June 16, 1980, to October 1, 1994, and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant (SSGT). He later remained connected to the veteran community as a member of the American Legion.
In his free time, Raymond loved riding his Harley-Davidson with his friends. He also adored his three “fur babies,” Tigger, Ginger, and Ivan. A devoted sports fan, he rooted faithfully for the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Chargers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Jean Clarkson Mills; his stepfather, Thomas Edward Mills; his brother, Russell Curtis Mills; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Raymond is survived by his sister, Christine Jolley (Edward); his niece, Alyssa Beard (David); his great-nieces, Jaclyn Beard and Kyalyn Beard; and his domestic partner, Kris Shupe.
Service details will be provided at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Raymond’s memory to disabled veteran's organizations, a local humane society, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
