Robert James Luehring, also known as Bob, passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 83, in San Diego, California. He was born on February 10, 1940, in Oak Park, Illinois. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy, his children Leslie and Rob, son-in-law Brian, granddaughter Celia, his sister Barbara, twin brother Dick, and sister-in-law Kerry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Kay.
Bob grew up in Maywood, Illinois, attended Proviso High School and graduated from the University of Illinois and DePaul University’s Graduate School of Business.
Bob also lived in Kansas City, St. Charles, Illinois, and St. Pete Beach, Florida before settling in Rancho Bernardo. He was an Army 1st Lieutenant and served his country with distinction. He worked in marketing for Amoco Oil for over 30 years before retiring. Bob enjoyed road trips, golf, books, and beaches.
