“My husband and best friend for over 57 years has gone to be with the Lord.” Robert (Bob) Weibert was born May 3,1946 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Helen (Helko) and Theodore Weibert. Bob spent his early years in Shattuck before his family moved to Whittier, California. He attended Whittier high school, and then UCLA. Bob graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of California San Francisco, where he met his wife Elizabeth (Betsey).
Bob served in the Indian Health Service in Montana before teaching in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota. After their son Jason was born, they wanted to be closer to their families so they returned to California where their daughter Jillian was born.
They settled in Scripps Ranch and over 48 years they formed deep ties to the community. Bob became a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at the University of California San Francisco. He taught in the satellite program at the UC San Diego Medical Center. He was also an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine at UCSD. Bob was a co-founder and Director of the Medical Center Anticoagulation Clinic.
Bob loved the Lord, his family, and his pets. His favorite hobbies included running, golfing, driving his Bullitt Mustang, and following the UCLA Bruins and the San Diego Padres. Bob was quiet with a quick sense of humor and was always there to support his children’s activities. Special times were spent at the family cabin in Idyllwild, exploring National Parks, and enjoying Lake Tahoe and the beach with extended family and friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife Betsey, son Jason Weibert (Alison), daughter Jillian Hollingshead (Julian), sister Sandy Poole, and brother Joe Weibert (Debbie). He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Sam, Audrey, Makena, Hunter, Seth, Brochton, Farrah, and Noah.
Bob passed away from complications of Parkinson’s. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of San Diego or to the charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held at Maranatha Chapel on Thursday February 5th, 2026.
