Robert Allen Geiter
1947-2021
Robert (Bob) Allen Geiter, age 74, of Vista, CA departed our world on July 1, 2021.
Bob was born in Allentown, PA on April 22, 1947 to Robert and Mae Geiter. He graduated high school in Brockport, NY in 1965 and earned a BS in Industrial Arts from State University of New York at Oswego in 1969. Later he earned his MS in Education from the State University of New York at Albany in 1975. He married his college girlfriend, Mary Jane (neé Belpulsi) in 1969. After building their first house in Clifton Park, NY, their son Daniel was born. From there he moved to Rhode Island and later Lilburn, GA until 1998. In 1998, he moved to Vista, CA for the beneficial environment to help take care of his wife who had multiple sclerosis.
Bob was a teacher and serial entrepreneur. He began his professional life teaching secondary school industrial arts, graphics, printing, and electrical trades and these interests continued through his subsequent business career. While he worked as an employee for two companies in his life, he started eight additional companies ranging from sales and OEM manufacturing consultation to Hearth Patio and BBQ retail and distribution, mostly organized under The RAMCO Group, Inc., which he developed over a period of more than 30 years. During that time he was granted two patents regarding wood stove combustion.
Throughout his working life, he never lost his desire to share his knowledge and teach. Whether he was giving directions, teaching driving, or manufacturing, he consistently attempted to share his knowledge. His hand-drawn driving directions became legendary and could have been adopted by the NSA for the basis of a coding algorithm. Bob loved technology, gadgets, computers, and business. He was a lifelong reader with a permanent bias toward periodicals and the news in both printed and video formats. He had a consistent need to be informed of as many current events as possible.
In 2008, his wife Mary Jane Geiter passed away. In 2010, he married his current wife Robin (neé Manno) who had three grown daughters and later five grandsons who Bob loved to help any way he could. In 2018, Bob retired from most of his professional activities due to health considerations though he continued to function as a consultant for the company until he died.
He is survived by his younger brother Lawrence Geiter, son Daniel Geiter, wife Robin Geiter, granddaughter Quinn Geiter as well as Robin’s daughters and grandsons.
