Rocky Deen Kuonen passed away on July 22, 2020 after losing his battle with stage 4 lymphoma. A military funeral is planned for him on August 9, 2021 at 12:30 pm
He is survived by his wife Freda Kuonen; 3 daughters, Ryan Kuonen, Vanessa Kuonen-Cavens and Casey Schooner; Stepdaughter Kathleen Wright; and sister Rita Olson, and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rocky served as a Sargent in the 101st Airborne division of the Army during the Vietnam War and was unfortunately in the field during the time of Agent Orange incidents. He was honored with the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal of Honor and Parachutist Badge. Rocky was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a great friend to anyone who he deemed an “underdog”. Rocky served at the White House under several titles including Advance Team Leader during the Presidential Terms of Reagan, Bush and Ford during which time he went on tour with President Reagan and traveled many parts of the world.
Rocky was a kind and loving soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
