Ronald Louis Sedita Obituary

Ronald Louis Sedita
December 13, 1945 – September 19, 2024

Ronald Louis Sedita, age 78, passed away peacefully on the September 19, 2024 surrounded by
his loving family. He was a devoted husband to Diane Sedita for 56 wonderful years, a cherished
father to Michelle and Tara, and a beloved grandfather to his twin granddaughters, Autumn
and Hailey.

Born in Long Island, New York, Ron moved to California at just nine months old and grew up in
La Mesa. A proud graduate of Grossmont High School, he went on to attend San Diego State
University. He served in the National Guard Reserves, a commitment he took to heart. Ron was
a part of a large Italian family, deeply influenced by the love and warmth of his parents, Louis
Sedita, who hailed from Sicily, and Mary Caltagirone from New York City. He had two older
sisters, Mildred Greco and Jean Barton, who were like second mothers to him, and a brother,
Eddie, who tragically passed away in childhood.

Throughout his life, Ron treasured the bonds he formed with his extensive family, filled with
aunts, uncles, and cousins who shared countless memories of late-night card games and family
feasts. It was at Harris & Frank in Grossmont Center Mall where he met Diane, a moment that
would change his life forever. Their first date at Woolworth's was followed by a snowy
adventure with his fraternity, where laughter and love blossomed.

Ron and Diane shared a profound connection, often taking spontaneous drives up the coast for
dinner, dancing to their favorite song on the jukebox, "California Dreamin'," and creating lasting
memories together. They married on September 13, 1968, and celebrated their 56th
anniversary this past year.

In addition to his immediate family, Ron embraced his son-in-law, Seth Hicks, as his own,
welcoming him into the family with open arms. His legacy is reflected in the love he shared with
his family and the lessons he imparted.

A dedicated professional, Ron spent over 52 years in the steel fabrication business, mainly at
EBCO Steel, and later as a Managing Partner at H&H Diversified & Nob Hill. He was known for
his intelligence, work ethic, and kindness, always eager to share his knowledge with those around him.

After a courageous battle with aggressive with bladder cancer, Ron faced his illness with strength and dignity.  In his final moments, he was surrounded by the love of his wife and daughters.

Ronald Louis Sedita will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to [St. Jude's Children's Hospital, if desired - link following].
