Stryder Livingston Spillane

Stryder Spillane, born April 19, 1987, to Brenda and Thomas Spillane, was the tenth of twelve children and grew up surrounded by the love and energy of a large family. His early years were shaped by frequent moves due to his father’s military service, where he developed resilience, creativity, and a gift for building friendships. Known affectionately as “Ty” by his siblings, Stryder found joy in performing from a young age, a spark that carried into his adult life. His journey took him from Germany to California, Missouri, Arizona, and Colorado, all along he nurtured his faith, developed his passion for cars and guns, taught himself guitar and piano (becoming a gifted musician), earned an MBA, and built and rebuilt his career. It was during his time in Colorado that he met the love of his life, Ashley Reden, with whom he shared a deep and joyful marriage of 17 years. Stryder and his family returned to Valley Center in 2016, where Stryder says he always truly felt at home. Stryder had always expressed his love for Valley Center, the people, and the community he had made here.

Together, Stryder and Ashley built a family centered on love, faith, and service, welcoming their daughters Cassidy (14), Hallie (12), Capri (9), and later their son, Crew (5). Despite facing a challenging diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Stryder remained steadfast in his devotion to his family and his community. He was known for his kindness, his endearing smile, his sense of humor, and an ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds, always seeing others as children of God. His friendships were genuine and lasting, and his life was a testament to his faith in Christ, his commitment to service, and his love for Ashley and their children. Stryder’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his warmth, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith.
