Tamara Suzanne Sofi

How can one adequately describe and honor someone as beautiful as Tamara? To say she had a heart of gold would only hint at her goodness. To say she was beauty-in-motion is to use paltry words to describe the poetry of her dancing. To speak of her kindness could take volumes to fill. To reflect her brilliance would blind the eye with the light that she was. 

No, there are no adequate words to describe this beautiful soul. Those of us lucky enough to have known her, to have loved her, are filled with gratitude, admiration, and the deepest respect for her essence. Her essence that embodied every good that is born of the heart. And best of all? She made each one of us feel special, unique, brilliant, and loved. 

We mourn her loss. But we are deeply grateful for having known someone who could love life so deeply and passionately, and someone who included us in that embrace. 

There came a time when Tamara knew she was dying. But she embraced that process with the same elegance and grace with which she lived her entire life. She was an inspiration to all of us who were privileged to care for her in the last months of her life. Thank you, Tamara, for having graced our lives with your beautiful, inimitable presence!

Tamara lost her battle against pancreatic cancer on April 14, 2022. She left her beloved family as well as dozens of coworkers, friends, and mentors to cherish their memories of her. She expressed her hope we would all celebrate her life rather than mourn her death.
