In Loving Memory of Thomas M. Osvold
Thomas Osvold 88, of Escondido, Ca, passed away on September 1, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He left us to embark on his next journey, leaving cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be engraved in our hearts.
Born on March 9, 1935, in Minneapolis MN. He grew up in Bainbridge Island WA., with parents Howard and Evangeline. Tom attended Shawnigan Lake Prep School in British Columbia and was a graduate of the University of Washington.
Tom was a beloved son, spouse, parent, grandparent, and friend. He was known for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love of those around him. Tom touched the lives of countless people with his gentle spirit and generous soul. His work on the boards of Rady Children’s Hospital, The Burn Institute and Escondido Arts Commission, left a lasting impact and inspired others to pursue their passions. He was happiest when helping others. Tom was especially proud of his volunteer time in Uganda with assisting in malaria education.
Tom is survived by his family, including his loving wife, Rose, son Robert (Kiersten), daughter Carolyn (Erik), son Tom (Lydia) and stepdaughter Ann Marie, along with 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
