It is with profound heartbreak and enduring love that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Tyler, who left this world far too soon at the age of 20. Tyler’s joyful spirit, loving heart, and infectious smile brought light into every space he entered. He was known for his constant happiness, his warmth, and the genuine kindness that made others feel welcomed and loved.
Tyler grew up in Scripps Ranch, California, where he was surrounded by a close-knit community that meant so much to him. He attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade, forming early friendships and a strong foundation of faith. Throughout his childhood, Tyler loved playing youth sports—including baseball, soccer, and flag football—and he made countless friends along the way.
A proud graduate of Cathedral Catholic High School, Tyler embraced his time there with enthusiasm and heart. He had a deep love for football and followed the sport closely, whether watching college or professional teams. He talked about the game with passion and joy, always eager to share that excitement with the people around him.
After high school, Tyler attended the University of Colorado Boulder for a semester, where he continued exploring new experiences and friendships. He was a member of Sigma Nu, and the brotherhood he found there held special meaning for him.
Tyler was preceded in death by his father, William Gouslin, whom he loved deeply. He is survived by his devoted mother, Jennifer, his loving brother, Cole, and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A funeral service honoring Tyler’s life will be held on January 5 at 2:00 PM at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. All who knew and loved Tyler are welcome to attend and celebrate the beautiful, joyful soul we were so blessed to know. Light refreshments will be served in the parish hall following the service.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Tyler’s love, laughter, and radiant smile will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort today and always.
