Yun Gong

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Yun Gong, who peacefully departed from this life on December 14, 2025 in San Diego, California after a courageous battle with cancer.

Yun was born in Shanghai, China in 1973. After graduating from Shanghai Normal University, she immigrated to Canada with her husband in 2001 and built a life in Markham rooted in love, family, and care for others. Yun later graduated from the School of Early Childhood at George Brown College in Toronto, laying a strong foundation for her dedication to education. Yun spent her final working years as a kindergarten teacher with the Toronto District School Board, a role she truly cherished, before relocating to San Diego with her husband in 2024. Yun was warm-hearted and enthusiastic, with a lifelong love for arts and crafts and a talent for Chinese calligraphy. Yun also carefully documented our life and family adventures by taking photos, making videos, and diligently creating photobooks of our most precious moments.

Yun is survived by her husband, Jun, and her daughter, Carol.

Yun was a kind, compassionate, and completely selfless person. Even while enduring great pain, she remained strong and chose to carry her suffering quietly.

Yun, we will miss you more than words can express. Until we meet again, you will always be loved, remembered, and held forever in our hearts.
