I am so pleased with the care, help, and professionalism of the staff at California Funeral Alternatives. Richard Jungess went above and beyond my expectations when my husband was buried. His staff was very thoughtful when I went into the Escondido office. I never felt rushed or pressured as the prices or services were discussed.

I found California Funeral Alternatives wonderful to work with. I had already visited another mortuary and found better prices at California Funeral Alternatives. The owner, Richard, even took things a step further. I had chosen a low-priced casket after oohing and aahing over a more expensive one. I found out later he had ordered the more expensive one and was only charging what the lower one cost! He also included a guest book at no charge. Richard also took photos when my husband was buried at a military cemetery, and I was not allowed to be there. I highly recommend this mortuary.

California Funeral Alternatives and the Jungas family handled the arrangements for an elderly relative. In our case there was a traditional casket burial. I can state with confidence that California Funeral Services is very professional and caring in providing their services. I wholeheartedly recommend them for any family experiencing the loss of a loved one. My family would certainly go back to California Funeral Services the next time we have the need.

We would have been lost without their help & guidance these last few months. When my brother Rob & I first met Marna, in Sept 2022 - we were checking out "pre-funeral" arrangements for our Mom, Helen. Marna was so professional & knowledgeable, but with a personal touch. We didn't know what to do or what to expect - she put at ease thru the whole process & really listened to our family needs & wishes.
In the end, my brothers & I were so grateful we had made the decision to move forward with "pre-arrangements" with CFA - especially since Mom recently passed away just a few months from that first meeting.
Since Mom's passing in Feb 2023, Marna has been there for us again. She has been so helpful in these last few months with final arrangements, processing necessary paperwork, obituary, memorial ideas, etc.. and being there to answer our never ending questions. Other staff who also have been there for us - helping with obituary info & pictures - has been Marianna.
We highly recommend CFA staff & facility to help your family in your time of need. Believe me, having made "pre-funeral" arrangements with CFA & their very profession & personal touch staff was the best decision our family could have made. The passing of a loved one is rarely an effortless experience for a family; in times of great crisis, one person or entity usually becomes the critical linchpin upon which success or failure derives. In this instance, Ms. Kim Witthoft and the staff of California Funeral Alternatives were that integral entity that enabled my family to close our tragic chapter as best as possible.

I cannot write sufficiently positive anecdotes about Ms. Kim Witthoft and the staff of California Funeral Alternatives to convey my gratitude and appreciation for their efforts. In the wake of a devastating family loss, contending with exceptional confusion and incomplete information under the circumstances of the passing, and under the pressing constraints of time, finances, and resources, Ms. Kim and the staff became a rock of stability in an otherwise tumultuous episode. Ms. Kim explained patiently and intelligently the nuances of aftercare considerations. She assisted with our unique time and resource constraints such that her actions became the proximal cause of our meeting our time, budgetary, and administrative constraints. Throughout all phases of aftercare, Ms. Kim was exceptionally proactive, communicative, and competent. I firmly believe that the other staff are similar professionals; regrettably, I did not interact with them. I do not have comparable experiences with civilian funeral services; however, given the caliber of support, empathy, professionalism, and proactivity I experienced with California Funeral Alternatives, I would not want a different provider when my family needs funeral services in the future.

Thank you so much for the amazing service, support, and professionalism during the difficult time of my father’s passing. MaryEllen was such a tremendous help; kept me abreast of the entire process and although being thousands of miles away, she made me feel like I was there in person.
